MEN’S VOLLEYBALL CAPS OF 2018 SEASON WITH DIVISION’S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ducks ended their 2017-18 season with an incredible run during the National Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri in April.  With three players making the All-Conference teams, they arrived in the Midwest determined to finish their season with a division championship, after suffering a neck-and-neck loss to Boise State in the conference semi-finals.  The Ducks took a few tough losses along the way that week, eventually bumping down into the silver division bracket.  That didn’t stop them though, as they triumphed with wins over Northern Arizona, Texas A&M, and Northern Illinois.  The next day they were in the zone.  With a win going right down to the wire over Boise State, the Ducks rolled through North Dakota State right on to the Division Championship against none other but their long time rivals, University of Washington.  The guys were already fired up though, shaking off three prior days of high-level play and defeating the Huskies in two games, with Freshman outside hitter Jake Sofro (Santa Barbara, CA) getting the final kill.  What a way to finish off the season, especially for our senior libero and captain, Nolan Caballero (Mililani, HI), as he ends his career with the Ducks holding various all-conference accolades as well as Male Athlete of the Year in 2017.  Stay tuned for more photos and posts regarding the upcoming season as the Ducks looks to keep this winning mindset alive.  Hope you’re all having a great summer and go Ducks!
